Renters lose money the same three ways, Klein / Louetta included.
It's rarely the wrong apartment. It's a decision made on information that was wrong to begin with.
The listing is already gone
Sites keep a unit posted after it's leased. They already got paid for sending you the lead. You find out after the drive, and the application fee doesn't come back.
"Two months free" isn't the rent
The advertised number and the number you actually pay over the lease term are two different figures, and the renewal rate is a third. Most renters don't see the gap until the offer letter.
The screening answer depends on who answered
Apartment screening is property-specific. Ask for the current written criteria and whether the community accepts a guarantor or another conditional approval option before paying an application fee. A larger deposit does not guarantee approval. We help compare the requirements with the information you share about your rental history.

Commuting From Klein: SH-249, I-45, and the Kuykendahl Park & Ride
Klein and Louetta occupy unincorporated north Harris County roughly between SH-249 (the Tomball Tollway) and I-45. Louetta Road runs east to west through the middle. SH-249 heads north toward Tomball; I-45 north leads toward The Woodlands and Conroe; the Hardy Toll Road connects south to Downtown Houston. The Grand Parkway (SH-99) runs just north of Spring Creek. All three toll corridors can stack on a daily commute. Plan on roughly $90 to $150 or more a month (2026 rates) if your route uses the Tomball Tollway, Grand Parkway, and Hardy Toll Road.
You will need a car for most daily trips. The main transit option is the METRO Kuykendahl Park & Ride, which runs express buses to Downtown Houston. If your job is Downtown or near that commute line, the Park & Ride cuts toll costs and eliminates downtown parking. Most other commutes (the ExxonMobil Spring campus, the Medical Center, or the Energy Corridor) mean driving.
Use our free commute tool for drive times at your hours, and count tolls if your route uses them. Share your work address and usual start time and we will build the list around the commute you actually have.
Compare the Apartment Communities in This Area
Garden apartment communities from the 1980s through 2000s cluster along Louetta Road, Kuykendahl Road, and near SH-249. Compare utility charges separately from the rent.
Almost all properties here sit within Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs). A MUD is a local district that pays for water, sewer, and drainage through property taxes, and some bill water directly to tenants. Ask whether water is included in rent, billed through management, or billed directly by the MUD, and get the recent monthly average before comparing rents.
For an apartment, ask the leasing office about maintenance requests, parking, pet rules and lease length. Get any terms that matter to your decision in writing before applying. Our locating service covers apartment communities only.
Older, independently managed complexes are more likely to review a complicated file one at a time than newer corporate managed properties. If you have a past eviction, broken lease, or credit challenge, bring proof of income and a short explanation. Ask for the written tenant selection criteria before paying an application fee. Texas landlords usually must make these available. Look your name up in Harris County Justice of the Peace court records before applying, since dismissed cases still show on most screening reports.
Klein / Louetta questions
Is this address in Klein ISD?
Klein ISD serves most of the area, but Spring ISD and Tomball ISD both reach the edges, and the boundary can fall between neighboring streets. If school assignment matters, look up the address on the Klein ISD boundary tool before you commit, and ask us if you want a hand.
What should I compare before I apply for an apartment here?
Apartment screening is property-specific. Ask for the current written criteria and whether the community accepts a guarantor or another conditional approval option before paying an application fee. A larger deposit does not guarantee approval. We help compare the requirements with the information you share about your rental history.
Did Spring Creek or Cypress Creek flood this street in Harvey?
Spring Creek to the north and Cypress Creek to the south both flooded in Harvey, and the smaller creeks in between backed up. Check the specific address on the current FEMA flood map and the Harris County Flood Control District viewer. Ask the landlord directly about Harvey, Imelda, and Beryl by storm name. After Harvey, 68% of Harris County homes that flooded were outside the 100-year floodplain, so a clean map result does not end the question. Standard renters insurance does not cover flood; an NFIP contents only policy costs less than most renters expect.
What should I ask a Klein or Louetta leasing office before I apply?
For an apartment, ask the leasing office about maintenance requests, parking, pet rules and lease length. Get any terms that matter to your decision in writing before applying. Our locating service covers apartment communities only.
How far is the ExxonMobil campus from Klein and Louetta?
The ExxonMobil Springwoods Village campus sits northeast of Klein and Louetta, near I-45 and the Grand Parkway (SH-99). Kuykendahl Road or the Grand Parkway gets you there, and rush hour adds time. SH-249 and Hardy Toll Road access makes Klein and Louetta a workable commute corridor for the campus. Use our free commute tool to see drive and transit times at the hours you travel.
What do the toll roads add to a monthly commute?
SH-249 (Tomball Tollway), the Hardy Toll Road, and the Grand Parkway all charge tolls. A daily commute using two or three of these corridors can run $90 to $150 or more per month in tolls alone. Renters routinely leave that cost out when comparing rents here to options closer in. We can help you put likely tolls next to each rent if you ask.
Can I rent here with a broken lease, bad credit, or an eviction filing?
Often yes, at the right building. Older, independently managed complexes tend to give managers on site real say on complicated applications. Bring proof of income and a short explanation of any past eviction or broken lease. Ask for the written tenant selection criteria before paying an application fee; Texas landlords usually must make these available. Look your name up in Harris County Justice of the Peace court records first; dismissed cases still appear on most screening reports. A larger deposit or a guarantor service such as TheGuarantors is the usual path at newer corporate managed buildings.
Should I use listing websites or a locator to find an apartment in Klein?
Listing sites often show units that have already been leased, and the listing stays up anyway. We talk with leasing offices every day and track which communities fit which budgets and histories. We point out the specials worth asking about, plus MUD billing and flood history questions by address. If a unit is gone by the time you call, we send replacements. The service is free to you.
